Seeing God: Job’s Suffering and God’s WisdomSample

Day 2: In My Universe—He Is in Control
Consider
Instead of answering Job’s complaints directly, God asked Job a long series of questions about the universe. Through these questions, God reminded Job that God is in control of far more than just Job’s little piece of the world. Our universe is a complicated and fascinating place, requiring the utmost care and design, and God orchestrates it all to perfection. Like Job, we can only see a small piece of the story, but God’s purposes have been in motion from the beginning.
Do you believe God is in control? If He’s trustworthy with the universe—with each star, planet, element, and atom—is He trustworthy with your circumstances?
Pray
Holy God, we’re in awe of Your care and sovereignty. Your creation declares Your power and care for the universe—and for us. May Your Spirit guide us in recognizing how little control we really have and in trusting You to care for our needs like You govern the universe.
