Seeing God: Job’s Suffering and God’s WisdomSample
Day 4: In My Body—He Knows
Consider
Through this incredible encounter with God, Job gained insight into our Father’s heart. In his grief, he assumed God was distant and uncaring. But it was in Job’s grief that God was able to reveal His deep compassion and mercy. God was always listening, observing, and working everything together for His purposes. If Job hadn’t suffered deep and lasting loss, He wouldn’t have experienced an intimate encounter and a profoundly clearer relationship with God.
Have you had an experience where, like Job, your ears had heard of God, but your eyes didn’t see Him? How has loss or grief drawn you closer to God’s heart?
Pray
Faithful and holy God, we don’t want to experience pain and suffering, but we want to know You. Show us how You redeem our suffering for Your glory. Reveal Your heart, Your faithfulness, and Your purposes. Teach us to walk in Your grace, even in our deepest heartaches.
