Could Your Workplace Culture Be a Stumbling Block?

DAY 4 OF 5

Is Your Workplace A Stumbling Block? – Part IV

In an article titled, “Why Ethical People Make Unethical Choices,” the Harvard Business Review highlighted five ways that organizations needlessly provoke good people to make unethical choices.

The fourth way is that “Ethical behavior is not part of routine conversations.” A strong ethical culture talks about ethics even when all is well.

Tom Hill, author of Making Character First, discovered that having a character quality highlighted each month in a business not only improves the morality of the organization but also improves the profitability. He recommends a regular celebration to highlight those who modeled the character quality of the month.

Proverbs 11:27 teaches, “Whoever seeks good finds favor, but evil comes to one who searches for it.”

In your workplace, highlight good ethical behavior to prevent the bad.
