Matthew: Part 1Sample
In Matthew 2, we’re told that some wise men saw a star in the sky and followed it to go see Jesus. At this point, Jesus was probably around 1 or 2 years old.
Now, if you’ve sung the Christmas carol We Three Kings or seen one of those nativity sets, you’re probably familiar with these guys.
Now, here’s what’s crazy about this. The Jews would have believed that Jesus, the Messiah, would come for the Jewish people.
But, these wise men weren’t Jewish. In fact, they came from a different country and practiced a different religion.
What does this show us? Everyone is welcome to come and experience Jesus. It doesn’t matter what background you come from, where you live, or even what you believe. You can come to Jesus. He won’t turn anyone who wants to worship Him away.
So, if Jesus won’t turn anyone away, let’s not keep Him a secret. As followers of Jesus, it can be easy to keep Jesus to ourselves—to only talk about Him when we are at church or with our small group. But, when we are with our class, friends, teams, or even families, we keep quiet.
Jesus is for everybody. Today, I challenge you to bring Jesus up in a conversation with someone who needs to hear about Him.

About this Plan
About this plan: As followers of Jesus, one of the best things we can do is look at Jesus’ life and learn from Him. Join us as we look at the first ten chapters of Matthew. Each day has a suggested reading, but don't let that stop you from reading the entire chapter!
