River Valley Church SOAP - Part 10Sample
John the Baptist is now a prophet leading a movement down at the Jordan river. John is preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Israelites of all different walks of life are coming to be baptized by him. It is here where Jesus appeared and was baptized by John. After His baptism, Heaven is opened and a voice declares 'you are my son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.’ After this, Jesus begins His public ministry after being tempted by the devil for 40 days. He quickly begins performing miracles for sick people and outsiders, even on the day of rest. He says that God blesses the poor, hungry, and sorrowful, and tells people to “love their enemies.”
Today, let's pray that the Christians in this nation would not grow weary or complacent in sharing the love of Jesus with their Muslim and Hindu neighbors, who outnumber them.
