Week Two - Day Six - God is always with me
Welcome to our Time to Shine devotional! As we journey together through this devotional, we pray it will help our kids to understand that God is light. He has given us His spirit to help us navigate through the darkness, just like a lighthouse helps ships to navigate dangerous waters, God’s light helps us to navigate this life. We find His light in His word, in His people and in His presence. Through well known Bible Stories we want our kids to know that the darkness cannot overpower God’s light!
READ:
‘The Lame Man’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 484 - 487) or in Acts 3:1-10.
When the man’s legs were healed, he started jumping and praising God.
He was so grateful for what God had done for him.
It’s so important that we thank God and praise Him everyday for all the amazing things He’s done for us, and how much He loves us.
ASK:
What are you thankful to God for today?
REMEMBER:
The Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not overpowered the Light. (John 1:5)
SAY:
I can shine your light in the darkness,
With your love and kindness.
We don't ever need to fear,
Because you are always near.
Your light is forever,
Overpowered by darkness? Never!
We can trust in your light,
Shining so bright.
Leading us through even the darkest days,
In your love and hope we will always stay.
In Jesus name, Amen.
