Time to ShineSample

Week Four - Day Three - I know God provides
Welcome to our Time to Shine devotional! As we journey together through this devotional, we pray it will help our kids to understand that God is light. He has given us His spirit to help us navigate through the darkness, just like a lighthouse helps ships to navigate dangerous waters, God’s light helps us to navigate this life. We find His light in His word, in His people and in His presence. Through well known Bible Stories we want our kids to know that the darkness cannot overpower God’s light!
READ:
‘Lazarus Lives Again’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 418 - 422) or in John 11:1-44.
Jesus travelled to where Mary and Martha lived.
Martha came to meet Jesus, she was crying because her brother Lazarus had died.
ASK:
It's always very sad when someone we love or know dies and it really is ok to feel sad or cry about it.
But God gives us a hope and promise in John 11:25 - 26 The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
REMEMBER:
The Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not overpowered the Light. (John 1:5)
SAY:
I can shine your light in the darkness,
With your love and kindness.
We don't ever need to fear,
Because you are always near.
Your light is forever,
Overpowered by darkness? Never!
We can trust in your light,
Shining so bright.
Leading us through even the darkest days,
In your love and hope we will always stay.
In Jesus name, Amen.
