Prayer in Our Best Interest
God establishes governing authorities. Prayer for a human authority (a monarch, president, their officials, etc.) doesn’t mean we agree with or align with or even like them.
So why does God ask us to pray for, submit to, and respect human authorities?
1. So believers can live peaceful, quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
2. So “God’s message of reconciliation - i.e., the gospel - given at just the right time” will spread.
3. So believers can worship and pray to God, free from anger and controversy.
Let’s be righteous children of God who offer prayers that have power and effect.
