WHO ARE YOU?Sample

Despite our many religions, humankind continues to cry out: “We don’t know the way to God, the truth about God, or if he even exists. And we have no idea what life is, beyond amassing toys and honours that become meaningless in the face of death.”

So it is a huge relief to hear Jesus’ fifth “I am” statement: “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

This is a BIG claim! Take time to ponder its significance. It is an exclusive claim; one that would be arrogant, outrageous and utterly to be deplored … unless it was true.

You see, Christianity is not just another religion invented by humanity. Christianity is God reaching down to us to rescue us back to himself.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, only someone who came from heaven could lead us there. Only someone with perfect credentials could pay the price for our sins and win for us the right to be there. Thank you for doing what we could not – and for the love that motivated you to do it.
