Walk Through the Bible 365 - AprilSample

A Divided Heart
Samson's exploits of strength are well known and so also his betrayal by Delilah as he loses his strength when his hair is cut off. But was his strength really in his hair. Not at all. It was in what his hair represented - that he was a Nazarite, dedicated to serve the Lord. And he loses his strength because of a divided heart. What about us? Do we want to serve God and His purposes with power. Then let us also dedicate ourselves to live a separated and holy life for God and with a heart that is undivided in its commitment to Christ and His will.
Prayer: Lord God, use us for your Kingdom purposes. We dedicate our lives to you and ask for your strength to serve you and that we will not contaminate ourselves with the ways of the world or a divided heart. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
