Walk Through the Bible 365 - AprilSample

Do We Hold Prejudices?
Jephthah was a mighty warrior but faced rejection from his people because he was the son of a prostitute. It was only when the nation was at war and needed a strong warrior to lead them that he was called back. We learn two things from this - firstly, we are not to reject people based on their background - their ethnicity, education, appearance, status and secondly, a person's gifting will open many doors of opportunity. In spite of prejudice, Jephthah became Israel's leader on account of his gifting.
Prayer: Lord, we pray that we will respect and accept all people irrespective of their backgrounds while always conscious that you accept us just as we are. Also Lord, we thank you for the many talents and abilities you have given us and we want to use them for your glory as you give us the opportunities. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
