River Valley Church New Testament Soap Sprint Sample

Matthew's gospel recognizes that Jesus' power and authority could only have come from God, as evidenced by the supernatural miracles and healings that He performed. Jesus had this authority as the Son of God, yet He still chose to delegate this restorative power and invite His disciples to participate in God's perfect Kingdom being realized on earth as it already existed in heaven. For example, Jesus sent out His disciples in pairs to do mighty works in His name. When the disciples returned, Jesus drew their hearts back to a place of humility and the understanding that it had nothing to do with them, but rather God’s goodness.
