River Valley Church New Testament Soap Sprint Sample

The author of the book of Hebrews is technically unknown, but many scholars argue that it was also written by Paul, based on the writing style and logical argumentation that draws heavily from a deep well of knowledge of the Hebrew Scriptures. This was written to a group of believers who were likely of Jewish heritage, as the author assumes a great deal of Jewish scriptural and cultural context. Jesus is compared to many different figures from the Old Testament, such as Moses and Melchizedek.
The main focus of this book is to elevate the authority and divinity of Jesus as the true fulfillment of the Messianic pattern that had been laid out by all these other prophets. The author also challenges believers to remain faithful in the midst of persecution. Chapter 11, known as the "Hall of Faith," shares a reminder of some of the most notable men and women throughout the history of the Hebrew people and Israelite nation, all of whom held fast to their faith that God would keep His promises.
