River Valley Church New Testament Soap Sprint Sample

1, 2, and 3 John and Jude are also known as "general epistles," meaning they are written to broader audiences rather than specific communities. John is widely believed to be one of Jesus' closest disciples, and Jude is also believed to be the half-brother of Jesus. Both 1 John and Jude address the increasing threat of false teachings about Jesus Christ, particularly that he wasn’t fully human. 2 John carries forward the rebuttal of this belief, and invites readers to keep their focus on representing Jesus' perfect embodiment of truth and love. 3 John is actually the shortest book in the New Testament, and is a strong encouragement to believers to persevere in faithfulness to participate in God's work on earth.
