Change: Coping & Embracing Life’s ChallengesSample

Day 4: Celebrate CHANGE!
In a world full of negativity, shame, comparison, and criticism, you must be a safe place where encouragement and celebration are experienced often. We are often our worst critics. We constantly push ourselves and we are never satisfied with where we are. We have a hard time noticing and pausing to say "thank you" to Jesus for this particular change in our life.
There are also many changes that are worth pausing and acknowledging in life, such as growing in character, finishing an important task at work or home, helping someone in need, and being kind. Your words matter, much more than you think.
Dallas Willard says the first step of love is always giving attention. It’s noticing, acknowledging and calling out a change you see in them. But some believe that too much positivity will make others too proud so they withhold compliments and words that give life. However, we see that most people in this digital age are insecure, lacking self-worth, and looking for words of affirmation and love in any place they can find. We hope that it comes from caring Christians in their lives.
PRAYER:
God help me today to actively pause, notice, and celebrate a change I see in me or others.
NEXT STEP:
Make a commitment to celebrate one change you see. Be specific!
