Every Nation Faith City - Letters From Lockdown

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1 - Written from Lockdown

Letters from Lockdown is a declaration of hope in Christ amid chaos and uncertainty. Inspired by the Apostle Paul's letters to the church, this devotion will highlight key moments that show us the supremacy of Christ and steadfast hope. May we readily open our hearts to allow Jesus to show us how to respond to changing times, to turn a crisis into an opportunity to encourage other believers and grow in the faith.

Romans 1:16 (New Living Translation)

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

Paul not only wrote letters to build and encourage the church, but he also ministered to prison-guards, making Christ known to them, who in turn shared the gospel message to their families. The word about Jesus Christ prospered regardless of his "lockdown" experience. It's a testimony of how God can use profound moments in history to make His name known.

The pandemic will not last forever; lockdown will not last forever; our relationship with God will. Paul encourages us to continue sharing the gospel. It is the word of God that brings hope and refreshes the soul.

Lockdown has presented an opportunity for each one of us to grow closer to God. Let's take a moment to read the words of encouragement that Paul writes in his letters to inspire hope and strengthen faith.

Day 2

About this Plan

Every Nation Faith City - Letters From Lockdown

We all find ourselves in some state of life, emotional or spiritual, under lockdown. The Apostle Paul writes letters while being "locked-down" himself to encourage the church amid crisis. His imprisonment doesn't hinder him from preaching the gospel. We'll be looking at the books of Philippians, Philemon, and Colossians in this 5-day devotional study.
