WHAT IS SALVATION?

You may well ask, what is salvation? Understanding your salvation will determine how you walk out your Christianity. We all need salvation because we have all fallen short and need God’s grace and forgiveness. When you said yes to Jesus you publicly declared that Jesus is the Lord of your life, you believed in your heart and received the free gift of salvation.

Scripture teaches us that God placed eternity in our hearts and only God can fill that emptiness deep within. The emptiness is common and well known by humanity, but you now have access to the wellspring of life. Jesus is described as the living water that quenches every thirst. The same water that quenches also washes away all remnants of sin and unrighteousness. Today, you are washed and made new. By faith, the old is gone and the new has come.  

You are born again, and free from all shame, guilt, and condemnation. You’re no longer a slave to sin, you are free and He who the Son sets free is free indeed. Walk now with your head held high, you are a child of God, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy people. You were called out of darkness into the His marvellous light, so bask in the beauty of your salvation. 

You’ve said yes to Jesus and that yes may now require a no; no to self and sin. You now have the power inside of you, by the Holy Spirit, to overcome every obstacle and temptation. Be aware, there is an enemy who has purposed in his heart to kill, steal, and destroy, and your relationship with God is his greatest fear. So, if you happen to fall, fear not, for the Lord will uphold you with His mighty hand. He will be your strength and guide.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you that I am born again and washed by the blood of Jesus. I declare today that I am no longer a slave to sin but I am completely free. Help me to walk through this life, hand in hand with you, knowing that I will see you one day soon. Amen.
