What Are the Chances? Sample
Today's reading in Esther tells that Mordecai, as a follower of God, refused to bow before Haman, the King’s royal advisor and grand vizier. Haman, an elevated officer, was enraged and declared the soon coming destruction of all Jewish people, as well as the impending plunder of all of their goods.
The Jews were devastated and in mourning over this news. Amidst the distressful decree, Mordecai championed Esther to act on behalf of her people, because of her access to, and the favor she possessed, with the King. She was positioned in this exact moment in history “for such a time as this” to make a courageous move.
God knows the times and places for us to be appointed and positioned. God is at work! God is never mentioned within this book of the Bible, yet we can see that He is very much at work all around us and through us.
What are the chances?! Esther teaches us that God is at work. He has good plans in store for his people.
