What Are the Chances? Sample

What Are the Chances?

DAY 4 OF 5

We’re a part of something that spans generations and geography. We are a part of something so much bigger than ourselves in the story of God. We all tend to consider how our our gifts contribute to making a difference, but as believers, we are very much a part of a much larger plan.

In Esther 7, we saw Esther repeat Haman’s deadly decree and she revealed the plans to the King, yet she also drew attention to the lack of compensation and damages to the King.

There is a wild connection and echo in Esther’s words to Judah and Benjamin. In the midst of impending calamity, Esther drew from the words of Judah to Joseph as she spoke to the King. In that Purim season of remembrance, attention was drawn to the past and Esther remembered her own family lineage. Benjamin stood in the gap for his brother. Esther was playing her part in an outworking of God’s plans that spans time and space, generations and geography, in order to bring about healing that started a long time ago.

This is about more than us being where we are now and about us tracing back through to the faith of Abraham; God continues to work through the years!

QUESTIONS

How does it make you feel to consider the work of God across generations and geography and your own journey woven into His larger story of redemption for humanity?

Consider your own salvation story today. Who played a part in you coming to Christ?
