Before approaching the King, Esther called for a fast within her community of faith to rely on God. She recognized the volatile nature of the King, yet she risked it all. There comes a time where Esther risks everything in going before the King—even death. With all of the luxuries at hand, she knew she was called to stand in the gap for others in a powerful way.
There was a time when Mordecai took a stand against Haman. There came a time when Daniel had to resist oppressive rule and prayed anyway. There came a time of bravery when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood, despite the threat of death and the heat of the fiery furnace.
There comes a time for us all to face the unimaginable, and in faith, rely upon God and remain steadfast.
QUESTIONS
Can you recall a time when you were required to take a stand and reveal the love of God to people although it could have cost you greatly?
What would it look like for you to practically demonstrate reliance upon God?
