SWHW Bible Reading Plan: October 2021Sample
Top Takeaway from Audra Haney:
Our world is full of uncertainty, grief, and disunity. Daily, the news adds to the weight we carry. As we navigate a global pandemic, war, martyrs for the faith, human trafficking, natural disasters, and the godlessness of our culture- it seems the nations are groaning, instead of rejoicing.
Where should we fix our eyes?
King David, the ancestor of the hope of all nations reminds us:
“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper.” Psalm 118:5-7
Our world is broken, just as the Lord warned us. The consequence of sin nature is devastating.
However, these days are also full of unprecedented opportunity. We believe wholeheartedly that the church is the hope of the world and we are called to be a light in the darkness around us.
In it all, the nations have great reason to rejoice.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.” Isaiah 9:6-7
We do not have to fear man. Jesus is our Prince of Peace.
When we do not know where to turn, Jesus is our counselor.
When sin has taken more than we can fathom, Jesus is our comfort.
When the nations rage, our God is mighty.
This is the perfect time for the church to rise up in faith and not fear. We have the love of our Father, the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead, and the Holy Spirit speaking, guiding, and living through each of us.
Let’s be a part of giving the world the good news, of ushering in the return of Jesus as we carry out the great commission with passion and persistence.
Jesus came for all people. He came for all nations.
Remind your heart today;
The Lord is GOOD.
His faithfulness endures forever.
Jesus, thank You that You are before all things. You are above all things. The state of our world does not confuse or confound You. Help us to find our refuge in You and our hope in You alone. Help us to be faithful and share with great boldness the joy that we’ve found in You. You are mighty to save! We exalt every nation today in the mighty name of JESUS! Amen.

About this Plan
With God's Word as the foundation, each devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family and work, aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical 5-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
