DAY 4 OF 9

Simple but Significant

1 John 2:6

If we say we live in God, we must live the way Jesus lived.

Jesus grew up in a town called Nazareth, and after He had grown up, He went to other places as well to teach and do miracles. One day, He came back to His hometown to minister there. However, the people of Nazareth rejected Him. They could not accept the fact that Jesus, a carpenter's son, could teach them about God’s kingdom!

They might be expecting Jesus to come as a King with a big crown, fancy clothes, and many horses and soldiers who guarded Him. But Jesus wasn’t like that. He came to earth as a baby, and He grew up just like an ordinary person like you and me. He wanted people to know Him and walk with Him and learn from Him.

Jesus lived a simple and humble life, and He came for the sick, the broken-hearted, the left-out and hopeless, and all those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Despite His simple life, Jesus did magnificent miracles for those who came to Him with faith. He wanted to teach everyone about the kingdom of God, and His teaching is more valuable than anything in the world!

As His disciples, let us live like Jesus lived. Let our humble life make a significant impact on others.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, I want to be like You. I want to be humble and yet become a blessing to the people around me. Amen.
