God Comes to Serve
Mark 10:45
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many
Who doesn’t like to be served? It feels so good when your mum serves your breakfast ready on the dining table right after you finish your shower. It feels good when your sister gets your luggage ready before flying off on your vacation! When someone serves you, you feel great and special.
Jesus would love that you and I happily serve others too. Jesus says, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.”
Jesus is the King of kings, yet He came to earth not to be served but to serve. He wanted to teach the world about righteousness, to show us how to live a fruitful life, and to show us how much He loves us all. His mission was to give His life so that whoever believes in Him will be saved.
We’re also called to serve others. Be a friend to the lonely new student in your class and help him or her to adapt. Be the first to help your parents when they need help!
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for the reminder so that I won’t live selfishly. Give me a selfless heart to serve other people. Amen.
