DAY 9 OF 9

The Last Supper

1 Corinthians 11:25b

Do this in remembrance of Me

You may have seen your parents or older siblings take part in the Holy Communion in church or at home during online church service. The Communion is not about eating bread and drinking wine. There is a sweet and powerful meaning behind it.

Jesus’ last supper was a very special one. It was the very last time God’s people would eat the Passover meal in the old way. Jesus wanted to tell the disciples about a new way which we now know as the Holy Communion.

The bread represents Jesus’ body that was broken for us. The wine represents Jesus’ blood that was shed for us. We remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and the price He has paid for us to have an eternal life.

When you grow up and decide to take part in the Holy Communion, do not take it playfully. Take it seriously in the remembrance of Jesus, of how He died for us, rose again, and cleansed us from sins. What a special way to remember Jesus!

Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross and rising up again! I want to always remember You in everything I do. Amen.
