Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "This Is Living"Sample
If you were given the choice of a pious, trustworthy, responsible, and kind person, or an evil, ignorant, hurtful and untrustworthy person - to be friends with, which one would you pick? I believe you’d choose the first one.
We do not look for a crooked person, or someone who lives waywardly to be our friends. Why? Because we know that they are up to no good and one day their evil ways will come to light and we will have to deal with the aftermath. We may not realize it, but we could be walking on that path to destroy ourselves.
How?
When the people around us are doing what is not right and you seek their approval, you will soon find yourself making allowances, tolerating their behaviors, and starting to follow their ways for the sake of being accepted.
Daniel and his friends could have chosen to do the same. Everyone around them was doing the wrong thing. It was clear to them. But, they decided to continue doing what was right at the cost of being rejected. That did not deter them from doing what God wanted them to do, that is to live righteously.
In the end, who got the highest positions at the palace? Who turned out better? It was Daniel and his friends.
When we follow evil ways, we are not free from the fear that is haunting our minds. On the contrary, living right makes us feel secure, despite the challenges along the way.
Devotion for Parents
In work, in relationships with other people, in the business world, we are familiar with the term “the end justifies the means”. Is that right?
As parents, we are responsible to be good role models for our children. A role model who practices living in the Truth.
The question is, have we practiced living in the Truth? What kind of role model do our children see in us?
Devotion for Kids
The Word of God today reminds us that it is okay to lose a friend, or not be accepted in a community if that friend or community practices what we knowis bad in the eyes of God. Learn to always stick to what you know is right, which is what God wants us to do. God will defend us in due time. Remember, people with integrity walk safely.
Family Devotion Time|
Take turns sharing your experiences of when you were faced with a dilemma of whether or not to follow evil ways like your friends.
What did you do? How did it end?
Close in prayer and ask God to help each one of you to always live in Truth.

About this Plan
After we accept Jesus as God and Savior, our lives will change and our character will be renewed to become more and more like Him every day. What kind of life should followers of Christ have? What values do we need to hold? During this month we will invite the children to learn about this and teach them the values of truth that they should have in their lives.
