Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "This Is Living"Sample
There’s an old Sunday School song that goes like this:
The eyes of the Lord sees what you do
The good and the bad
That’s why, let’s do no bad things
The Lord sees
A simple song really, but the lyrics remind us that the eyes of the Lord are upon us. It’s unfortunate that some teachings may give the wrong impression of what God is really doing. He is not watching and waiting for us to make a mistake so that He can punish us. He is too good to do that. Our God provides the best for us.
His eyes are upon us not to punish us, but to help us and make sure that we are safe, in peace, and blessed. God does not like it when we do what is not according to His Word, but our actions do not make Him love us less. He wants to walk with us, no matter what. He will always help us every single time we call out to Him.
Let’s change the way we think. Decide to live in the Truth NOT because of the fear of punishment, but out of our love for God and our desire to please Him with our entire being. God loves us. He is ready to help us.
Devotion for Parents
How often do we say this to our children: Don’t do that! God will be angry at you and you will be punished and doomed to hell.
Let’s put a stop to that. Give your children the right perception of God. God is loving. God is good. God hates sin, but God loves us even when we are still sinners. So, we live in the Truth not because we are scared of being punished, but because we want to show our love to God.
Devotion for Kids
Do you think God is good or bad? Does God punish us for our mistakes? Or, does He care at all if we make a mistake?
Remember what Jesus did thousands of years ago. He died on the cross in our place when we were supposed to bear the punishment of sins. That’s how much God loves us.
God loves us always. He wants us to live in the Truth so that He can bless us and continue to provide for our needs.
Family Devotion Time
Take time to worship God for His abundant love for us.
Sing wholeheartedly.
Make a commitment to live in Truth every day.

About this Plan
After we accept Jesus as God and Savior, our lives will change and our character will be renewed to become more and more like Him every day. What kind of life should followers of Christ have? What values do we need to hold? During this month we will invite the children to learn about this and teach them the values of truth that they should have in their lives.
