An old proverb says that when someone lies to cover up a lie, over time the lies will pile up and he/she becomes untrustworthy. Only if that person admits his/her very first lie and takes the consequence of his/her action, will they be free of the fear of being exposed. Once and for all.

No one likes to be lied to. Sadly, many people prefer to lie rather than tell the truth in order to cover their shame, to “save” themselves from other people’s wrath, to avoid losing a friend, and many other reasons. In the process, they forget that lies have even bigger consequences in the future.

The Word of God reminds us once again to live in integrity by always telling the truth in all circumstances, whether you are alone or together.

Honesty may not always be pleasant, but lies never bring any good. Lies will definitely bring bigger problems in the future. So, staying honest and maintaining our integrity is key.
