Get Advice - Proverbs 15
A consistent theme in the book of Proverbs is to walk with people you trust and get their advice consistently. There are verses like the one above throughout the entire book of Proverbs. Remember, the theme is wisdom, which is making good decisions now that you won’t regret later. So if you want wisdom, seek it, find it, ask for it and then follow it!
We always ask people about good restaurants (or what to order at those good restaurants), movies and what to watch on TV, and so many other things. We should also ensure that we get advice about the bigger plans in our lives – our relationships, business decisions, spiritual life decisions, and on and on. If you don’t ask for it, you may not get it. So, before setting your plans – involve other people! The assumption, of course, is that you will listen! If you don’t, why bother to ask and involve other people?
“Father, show me the right people to get advice and counsel from and give me the humility to listen and follow their advice. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
