Committed to the Lord - Proverbs 16
I once heard someone talk about three levels of living – survival, success, and significance. Survival is just that, surviving. Life revolves around you making it and living paycheck-to-paycheck. The struggle is survival—no time to think about anyone else because you’re surviving. The next level is success because you start having a little more, and the struggle has settled into normal levels. You’re seeing and feeling success, but it’s still all about you enjoying the fruit of your labor. Significance is the highest level because you realize that your success is not just for you but to help others. Your life has purpose and significance, and meaning.
At the point where you commit to the Lord “whatever” you do, that’s when you start living beyond yourself. Bringing the Lord into your life and all areas of your life will help you achieve success and significance! He will establish your plans!
“Father, I commit my life to you and all my plans today. Lead me and guide me, Holy Spirit. Order my steps and establish my plans. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
