Relationship Goals

DAY 3 OF 5

Have you ever gone to a wedding? Most weddings, at some point, will include the famous “Love Passage” from 1 Corinthians 13. Maybe you’ve heard it before. It goes like this, “Love is patient, love is kind, love does not anger,” and so on. The verses talk about what it looks like to act with love, but the thing about love is that we are all told to act with love, whether in a relationship or not. Do you truly act with love as you think about how you treat other people? Jesus once said that others will know who His followers are by “the way they love.” Our love and how we treat other people show our true priorities and point others back to Jesus. Instead of focusing on “love” in a sexual or attraction sense, what would it look like to focus on true love- the kind of love that points others to Jesus?

Challenge: Reread 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, but place your name wherever it says “love.” Which one of the statements is most untrue? Choose to work on that aspect of love throughout your day.

About this Plan

Relationship Goals

Relationships are complicated, and relationships can be confusing if you're single, dating someone, or just putting feelers out there to see who you're attracted to. While the Bible never explicitly talks about "dating" relationships (because dating as we know it didn't exist when it was written), we can learn a lot of wisdom about relationships, singleness, attraction, and feelings.
