Praying Over Calling and Purpose

One of the most fruitful (and fun!) ways we can love our friends well is to encourage them to be who God has made them to be, and fan the flame of what God has asked and equipped them to do in every season of life.

Whether it’s an opportunity to remind them of what God has called them to, gifted them for, or that God will work all things out for their good, we can apply the truth of Romans 8:28 to affirm and encourage God’s calling in the lives of our friends and their Gospel-centered purpose from season to season.

Pray that God would use every moment, every story, and every circumstance for the good of our friends who love Him in order to further their effectiveness and confidence in their God-given callings.

TRY THIS PRAYER:

God, we know that we can count on You to work all things out for the good of those who love You! Please encourage and affirm _____________ (insert friend’s name) in Your good and perfect will for their life. Quicken their step to be obedient to what You’re asking them to do, right where they are and give them greater trust that You have given them everything they need to live out their calling in the season they’re in. When circumstances alter plans, dreams, or ideas, give them grace to walk forward, open-handed and trusting You as You lead them into more than they could have ever hoped or imagined. Thank You for inviting us to be part of Your greater story by so generously giving us gifting, skills, passions, and burdens for us to steward for Your glory and the good of others.
