10 Days of Praying for Your FriendsSample
Praying for Blessing
Our heart for our friends is that they would know God, feel known by God, and live the abundant life they were created for. One way that God accomplishes this is by meeting their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.
As people who are closest to our friends, we have the privilege of knowing the inner workings of their lives. When they feel spread thin, unprepared, or ill equipped, we can stand in the gap for them by reminding them that God won’t let one detail of their lives slip through the cracks. We can link arms with them by praying for specific blessings in these areas of their lives. 2 Corinthians 9:8 reminds us that God is the One who makes sure we have everything we need. His heart for our friends is not to just make it through a season, but rather to abound in every good work in every season. Spend some time today praying that God would build their trust in His sufficiency for their lives, leaving evidence of tangible blessings that become part of their story regarding what God has done in their lives.
TRY THIS PRAYER:
God, You are the one who is willing and able to fill every gap. In every circumstance where ______________ (insert friend’s name) feels like there isn’t enough, show Yourself mighty to them. Build their faith in your ability to come through, not just so we make it through but that we abound in the work to which You’ve invited us to partake in with our everyday lives. Bring freedom to my friend today as You compel her to trust you with both the monumental and trivial details of her life. Bless her by meeting a specific need she is concerned with today, and remind her it is because of Your great love for her. Thank You for being a God who delights in blessing His people far more than we deserve.
