DAY 27 OF 28

Extreme athletes and stunt performers need to put in an incredible amount of intentional practice to do all the amazing things you see them do on TV. For example, in preparation for her "Wonder Woman" role, actress Gal Gadot underwent a grueling physical training program that included weightlifting, martial arts, and other exercises designed to help her stunts seem superhuman.

Similar to extreme athletes, the Early Church was trying to overcome a massive amount of adversity. Hebrews 3:13 says one thing they could do to overcome this adversity is to "encourage each other daily." What if you thought about how you encouraged others the same way extreme athletes approach their training, where you had a plan and followed it every day?

Here are two simple things you could do daily to help sustain people in hard times.

First, prioritize saying kind things in your daily conversations by giving yourself a challenge. Try to say five kind things to a friend before you say one negative thing.

Second, suppose you have something kind to say to a friend. Spread it around to as many people as they know. After you tell them, tell someone close to them, like a boss, teacher, or coach.

You can be generous in your encouragement. As you are, it can help those around you overcome amazing odds.

About this Plan

Over the Top

Have you ever seen an action movie where the stunts became more and more outrageous? Each stunt gets more extreme as the movie continues to push the limits of what to expect. What if that same mindset inspired us to live differently in our lives? What if we looked to God for ways to be extreme and do the unexpected in places like generosity?
