Children of the Bible

DAY 12 OF 15

In the Bible many children are mentioned. We usually learn their names as we read, but there are some unnamed but very significant kids in the Bible.

One was a young girl we read about in the Old Testament book of 2 Kings. She was a captive slave from Israel and served the wife of Naaman who was the commander the Syrian army, a mighty soldier, but had a skin disease called leprosy.

She wanted Naaman to be healed and encouraged him to go and see the prophet Elisha. When he did, the prophet told Naaman to wash himself in the Jordan river seven times. When Naaman followed Elisha’s instructions, he was healed! Just as the young girl said, he would be.

God uses people to do big things. The Holy Spirit fills us and empowers us to serve God. God gives people gifts and talents and makes each person unique. God can give people ideas or inspiration to do great things. The Holy Spirit can lead and give people direction. And you don’t have to wait until you’re older for any of those things. God can speak to you, lead you, guide you and empower you right now.

God used this girl to help Naaman in a big way. We don’t know her name, but the impact she had will always be remembered. You’re never too young to do big things for God.
