Children of the Bible

DAY 3 OF 15

Throughout the Bible we see God speak to people in all kinds of ways, through signs, through miracles, through prophets and through dreams and visions. Samuel who we read about yesterday, heard God’s voice calling out to him.

God can speak to us in all kinds of ways. You might see a picture in your mind and feel that it has meaning to you. God is using that image to communicate something to you. You might read God’s Word and find that a verse or passage jumps out to you with special meaning and feel that God is using it to speak to you. You might receive an encouraging word from a friend and know that it’s something God wanted you to hear.

Just like Samuel, we can say, “Speak God, I’m listening.”

When we hear from God it might be an encouragement, something to help us and build us up. God might also speak to us to help give us direction on a decision we have to make. God might speak to us to warn us or show us how we can correct our path. God can often speak to us to give us a message for someone else, something to encourage them and draw them closer to Him.

When we hear from God we should listen, but not only that, we should do what He says.

The children of the Bible that we’re learning about were people who heard from God and did something about it. God used them to do amazing things. Now thousands and thousands of years later, we can be encouraged by their stories. You’re never too young to hear from God.
