Real Hope: Abundant LifeSample

Who? What? Why?

Our lives were changed forever by three little letters about thirty years ago: ‘WWW’. But as we take a look at Living an Abundant Life this week, I would ask you to consider another three ‘Ws,’. If we prayerfully examine ourselves through these three powerful words, I believe this can be considerably life-changing as well. Finding our purpose is foundational to living a rich, fulfilling, and abundant life.

WHO? – We are a unique creation of God, intricately woven together with love and purpose, and fearfully and wonderfully made with inherent value and a divine destiny (Psalm 139:14). Our birth is not a random event but a deliberate act of God, placing us in this world at this time to fulfill His purposes.

WHAT? – This uniqueness means that God has given us all we need to achieve what He has called, and will call, us to do. Through prayer, His Word, and the guidance of those we trust, we know He is faithful in showing us what we are to apply ourselves to and how to best use our talents, gifts, and circumstances for His glory (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

WHY? – We are designed to align our lives with His will. Living an abundant life is not synonymous with material wealth or worldly success. Instead, it is found in wholeheartedly fulfilling His will for us. He gives us our ‘Why’. When we walk in alignment with God, we experience a deep sense of abundance while being a part of His expression of love for His creation (Matthew 6:33).

Years ago, Mark Twain said, ‘The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why’.
