Communication and Connection: A Biblical PerspectiveSample
Agree Together for Connection
If you desire better communication and connection, your best action plan is to look to God's word and begin doing what it says. When God communicates, His words produce life; He is an excellent listener, speaks truth in love, and is willing to address problems when they aren't healthy or suitable. If you follow His example, in no time, you will feel more connected as a couple.
In addition to following His example and His word, you also want to get in agreement over your marriage. Going to the Lord in prayer for healthier communication and connection aligns with His desires for you; therefore, you can trust that your Father in Heaven will grant it.
Lastly, embrace the unity of marriage through leaving and cleaving and leaning into one another. Spend time together in prayer and make time for one another to foster your connection without letting things fizzle. A great way to maintain and strengthen your marriage is to have regular and quality time together.
Take Action:
Make a prayer action plan. Choose a consistent time and place and make prayer a daily habit. Then, do the same with some date nights. Go ahead and mark your calendars and schedule them consistently.
Let's Pray:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for my spouse. Please be near to us in our marriage. Keep us connected and strong, and help our marriage to keep you in the center. In Jesus' name, amen
