Celebrating Your BaptismSample
Chapter 1! The start of a new habit is when we are most committed to any plan or change. I encourage you to do this study with others to stay accountable. Life will be busy, and distractions will arise. Start your day by reading God’s word, and end your day by thinking about what you read.
As you take this step, take time to think about your relationship with Jesus. We dive deeper into our relationship with Him by immersing ourselves in His word and allowing it to transform our lives. As you read, ask God for help understanding the text. Ask Him what you should learn. In John chapter 1, you'll see that Jesus is described as the Word of God. As you get to know Him, you’ll know God’s heart, and His word (the Bible) will come alive.
Once you’re done reading, take 5 minutes to listen to Him with no distractions. He wants to speak to you. Are you ready to listen?
This week, we are starting with the Gospel of John, reading chapters 1-7. As you read Chapter 1, ponder this:
Throughout the Gospel of John, we witness the abundance of grace and truth that flows from Jesus. Reflect on John 1:16-17, "For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."
Have you fully embraced the grace that Christ offers freely? Are you still holding onto your former life with shame or regret? You have received grace upon grace from the Lord - it’s time to give grace to yourself.
