This Is the Adventure

What is God changing in you? How is He making you ready for a wild life? Is He helping you to give up perfection? Pursue your dreams? Quit porn? Serve your spouse courageously? Rely on Him? Rely on others? Show kindness to yourself? Heal from wounds? Overcome addiction? Grow in patience with your kids? Come out of passivity? 

This is the adventure. God is dismantling your false-self and healing the real you. He’s a good Father you can rely on. As Jesus reminded us, if you ask Him for a fish, He won’t give you a snake. As James reminded us, if you ask God for wisdom, He won’t judge you. As Eldredge reminded us, you get to be a son, need help, have questions, and make mistakes. 

Jesus gave us a daily prayer for the adventure. It’s called the Lord’s Prayer. It begins, “Our Father …” These two words remind us of two facts: He is the Father, and we are sons. These two facts make the rest of the prayer possible, and they make the adventure plausible.

After you watch today’s video and read today’s Scriptures, spend some time praying. Give God thanks for the work He is doing in you. Tell Him openly about your worries, temptations, and dreams. Then, tell Him lovingly about your passion for this new, wild life.
