Spirit (S2-E5)Sample

Do you feel ready?
In this episode of The Chosen, Jesus and his cousin John talk about the plans God has laid before them.
"Do you feel ready?"
"Readiness does not make it easy..."
"It is becoming real, all that we have prepared for."
Throughout the Bible, people respond to God with a simple, powerful phrase: "Here I am." Samuel. Joseph. Isaiah. Ananias. Each of them spoke those words when God called.
None of them knew exactly what would follow, but all of them made themselves available. "Here I am" begins with having your ears open — listening for God’s voice and noticing where He is prompting or calling. It also requires a willingness to step beyond comfort. God rarely asks people to do only what feels easy. Often His invitations stretch, challenge, and lead into unfamiliar ground.
Psalm 40 speaks of a heart that delights in God’s will and is ready to respond. Hebrews shows that this readiness is ultimately fulfilled in Jesus. He is the One who perfectly said, “Here I am.” He took on the Father’s mission, even when it meant walking toward suffering. His obedience was not easy. It was costly. Yet he went forward in love, fully trusting, fully surrendering.
So the question returns: Do you feel ready?
Maybe yes. Maybe no.
But readiness is not the same as ease. God’s call often meets people at the edge of fear or uncertainty. What matters is the posture of the heart: a willingness to say, “Here I am,” even when the task feels bigger than your strength.
Trust and obedience grow when the willingness comes first.
Reflection Questions
- Is there anything the Lord is asking of you today?
- What posture do you have toward unexpected or uncomfortable assignments from the Lord?
- How far are you willing to go in obedience? What boundaries do you tend to set?
Prayer
Lord, here I am. I am willing. Show me how I may serve You today. Help me hear your voice clearly and follow with obedience and courage. Amen.
