SPEAKING UP AT SUCH A TIME AS THIS

In the Old Testament, we read a story that is as unlikely as a housemaid like Cinderella becoming a princess. When the king of Persia was seeking a new wife, a Jewish woman named Esther was selected for her beauty. But when the Jewish people in Persia were being oppressed, Esther had a decision to make. And her uncle, Mordecai, encouraged her to be brave and speak up for her people who were in grave peril. He suggested that God may have positioned her for that very moment. Is there some way today that God is calling you to be brave by speaking up?

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for the witness of Esther. She shows me what it looks like to fear You instead of fearing men and women. Give me the courage to speak the words You put into my heart. Amen.
