Jesus: The Greatest GiftSample
God is love. And His great love is the reason why He has given you the gift of Jesus. God loves you and wants to spend eternity with you. That is why Jesus came. He suffered death so that you may live. And when you grasp even a glimpse of God’s unending love, you will love others. You will choose to put their needs ahead of your own. That is what Jesus has done for us. He chose to love us when we didn’t deserve it. And He commands us to love one another. In doing so, we walk in the way of love and we impact the world around us. What does it look like to love the people in your life? Do you offer words of encouragement? Do you serve, give gifts, write notes, smile, hug, share, or listen? There are lots of ways to love others. Love energizes any atmosphere.
Here are some things to do and think about today:
- Read 1 John 4:8. What is God?
- Read John 13:34. What is Jesus’ new command?
- Read Ephesians 5:1-2. What does it mean to walk in the way of love?
- Watch the prayer video, Strength to Love.

About this Plan
We give gifts to each other on Christmas morning. But, on the very first Christmas morning, we were given the greatest gift ever – Jesus. Over the next four days, we will learn how Jesus is the heart of the true story of God’s love for us. In the Lightgliders virtual world for kids, we call this the “Far Greater Story.”
