Lent: The Journey of Letting GoSample

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 6 OF 40

Week 2: Trusting God’s Guidance in Uncertainty

Theme: Living in God’s Kingdom means embracing a love and faith that often defy our expectations, inviting us to sacrifice, trust, and grow in humility.

Focus Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.”

Connect: Do you ever find yourself forming opinions about people before you really know them? It’s easy to focus on someone’s flaws or differences instead of seeing their worth. When we’re new to faith, it can be hard to grasp how deeply God values every person, even those we might struggle to understand. What if God is inviting you to see others through His eyes—eyes full of love and compassion?

Engage: In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus emphasizes serving "the least of these" as an expression of loving Him. True surrender involves seeing Christ in others and choosing compassion over criticism. All humans are made in the image of God and our invitation is to see with the eyes of Jesus and act in love.

Apply: Is there someone in your life who you have overlooked or have had a difficult time with lately. Pray to see them as God sees them and look for a way to serve or encourage them this week.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
