God Gives Us the Holy Spirit to Stand Firm

Have you ever felt God's freedom in the depths of your heart? Have you been completely changed by his Spirit from feeling weak to strong, frightened to fearless? Maybe you can answer with yes, but I’m sure there are times when life gets busy, you face challenges, reach a hopeless stage or stand in front of a difficult decision, and you don’t feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is ever-present – our friend, our comforter, our guide, our counsellor, our inspiration and the one who helps us to stand firm.

So what does the Holy Spirit do?

1. He reassures - When the Spirit comes he’ll guide you into HIS truth, into THE truth. In John 14:6 it says, ‘Jesus in the way, the TRUTH and the life.’ The Holy Spirit came to point that out to us, to guide us through every life situation, like solid stepping stones in shifting sand. He safely provides our paths, reminds us about his truth, reassures us and helps us to stand firm in HIS HOLY SPIRIT.
2. He sets us free - ‘Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom’ (2 Corinthians 3:17). There is nothing you have experienced or are experiencing right now that you can’t be set free by the Spirit. This may not be in the way you imagine it to happen. But when the Spirit comes and liberates us there is a freedom available you can’t expect, because it’s not from this world. But I can tell you, there’s no habit you can not break, no secret that is holding you prisoner, no addiction the Holy Spirit cannot overcome, deal with and set you free from.
3. He changes us - As stated in the beginning, he can change us within seconds if we’re ready to fully let go, stop controlling everything in our lives and allow him to transform us into the person he wants us to be. He can change us from feeling weak to strong, frightened to fearless, and the list goes on… his changing Spirit is available for EVERYONE, as the Lord will come powerfully upon us and change us into a new person.
4. He empowers - When the Spirit comes upon us, we receive his power and can become witnesses to Jesus, because we carry his presence and personality within us. HIS SPIRIT enables and empowers us to STAND FIRM in our workplaces, families, schools and sometimes even step out of our comfort zone to speak about Jesus. He often puts a spring in our steps, a song in our hearts and the wind in our sails.

The Holy Spirit comes to help us to:

• Stay Strong
• Run the Race

Jesus wants you to know and enjoy the HOLY SPIRIT in his fullness. It’s an invitation available for everyone, everywhere and at any time because he’s always ready and willing to meet with us.
