Stand FirmSample

God Gives Us the Church to Stand Firm
Have you ever had a close mate who loves you through hard times, is willing to challenge you, or even calls you out on things you should work on? These relationships are exactly what the church should be.
Being in a church enables us to deepen our relationship with God. And when we understand that, our heart breaks because we know we will never stand firm if we are not part of the church. To understand the church, there are two key things we need to know.
Firstly, the church is the Bride of Christ. Picture the moment the groom sees his bride walk down the aisle - he is full of emotion and joy, smiling and tearful. This is the same picture the Bible gives us when talking about Jesus and the church. The truth is, even through its imperfections and flaws, Jesus loves his church as a groom loves his bride.
Secondly, the church is the body of Christ, and Jesus is the head. Imagine you cut your thumb off. It’s gonna hurt, right? But does this mean that the thumb is not a part of our body? Of course not. However, it won’t do well separated from the hand. The body functions best when all parts are attached. We need everyone in the church, and no one is left out!
Prayer
Today, I pray that we stand firm in our faith together - as the church of Jesus Christ - who love one another, serve one another, are committed to each other, forgive each other, reach out to the world together and persevere even in the hardest of times. Amen.
About this Plan

Throughout this Bible plan, we will be figuring out together what it means to be a generation of young people who know what it is to follow Jesus and STAND FIRM in our faith. We explored this at DTI’s summer festival in 2024, and we have broken it down into this eight-day Bible plan.
