Darkness to Destiny: Unleashing God’s Power in a Dark WorldSample

Life is filled with both mountains and valleys — both highs and lows. Life doesn’t really happen without one and the other. But even when we find ourselves in the deepest of valleys, we must always keep our eyes to the peaks above us. He promises to walk alongside us as we do so — even when it feels we are out of His sight. But we never are. The prophet Jeremiah was someone who felt these valleys, these hard times — in fact he was known as the “Weeping Prophet” because of his deep grief regarding the state of the world around him — but he never allowed it to overcome him. Despite being persecuted for his messages, including being beaten and imprisoned, he wrote, “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23, NKJV).When we feel the fear or the sorrow that threatens to consume us, it’s important we learn how to navigate it — to remind ourselves of the Lord’s constant presence and that nothing is too great for Him. We must stay vigilant and continue to look up, seeking Him above all else. Only then will we reach the top.
