After YouSample

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Hebrews 4:14-16 again.
- How does this passage describe Jesus?
- What does it teach us about Jesus' ability to recognize our needs?
- What instructions are given to us?
A: Application
What's a need you have that makes you feel alone?
What can make it difficult to embrace faith rather than turn it away when you're in need?
The passage says Jesus offers mercy and grace in our time of need. What would it look like for you to accept those today?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer, worshiping God for giving us Jesus, who understands and meets us in our places of need. Talk to God about a specific need you're facing, and invite Jesus to show you his presence in it. Then, say thank you for Jesus' example of faith in difficulty.

About this Plan

We all know God wants us to love others—it’s one of the most important things Jesus taught. But let’s be honest… actually doing it? That’s not always easy, especially when life feels busy or like people aren’t easy to love. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll explore how Jesus shows us what loving others really looks like. We'll learn that he challenges us to move away from the world’s “me first” attitude and embrace his “after you” message as we follow his example.
