I AM Worthy: A Morning Meditation Series and Bible-Based Affirmation With Erin Marie of ManifestherdailySample

When you really understand your value, you begin to treat yourself differently. You cease giving away your time, your body, and your love to people and opportunities that haven’t paid the price to receive these precious gifts. You’ve prayed, you’ve cried, you’ve sacrificed, and you’ve worked to achieve a certain healing, to hone a specific gifting, and to better yourself through Christ. These actions are aligned with an understanding of just how much God values you.
1 Peter 1:18–19 says, “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold . . . but with the precious blood of Christ.”
You are so valuable to God. He did not redeem you with assets that people view as valuable, like silver or gold. He chose to regain you from the enemy’s plans for you with an incorruptible, everlasting, and all-encompassing gift of the precious blood of Christ. Can there be any doubt about how valuable you are to God?
Reserving yourself with discretion and becoming more discriminatory with where your time and energy is spent is counterintuitive to what we're taught as women: that we must sacrifice all that we have and are for our families, and even for those who aren't family, including friends, organizations, and jobs.
Jesus' second greatest commandment was to love others as you love yourself. Let’s say that again another way. Jesus is requiring you to elevate your love for yourself so you can love others. You cannot love anyone else according to God’s full ideal until you love yourself to His full ideal—meaning, your love and care for yourself shouldn't be less than how you love and care for the other people in your life. You must embrace God and allow Him to fill you to overflowing, so that the overflow you receive allows you to love others well.
Matthew 22:37–39 says, “Jesus replied: ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
When you come into a deep, abiding love for yourself to the point where you honor God and yourself through your actions towards yourself, you then become qualified to love others the way God desires you to.
Often, some of the most challenging problems we face in relationships with others happen because one or both people are looking to the other person to fulfill the love that is missing in their own hearts because they never learned to love God and love themselves. They have a God-shaped hole and a self-love-shaped hole in their hearts that they are looking to others to fill for them. These God-shaped holes in their hearts can be filled only by experiencing God's love and learning how to set aside time to love themselves.
Consider writing these scriptures in your journal so that you can refer to them regularly to reinforce your value according to the Word of God:
- You are made beautifully. "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made . . ." Psalm 139:14
- You are intended to be healthy and whole. "By His wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5
- You have a right to peace. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you . . ." John 14:27
- You have a successful ending. "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion . . ." Philippians 1:6
Walk fully and completely in your value today, giving all praise and honor to Him, because He loves you, values you, and has a good plan in play for your life. You are worthy.
Today’s Affirmation:
I am valuable beyond measure. God did not redeem me with gold or silver, but with the precious blood of Jesus—and that tells me everything I need to know about my worth. I treat myself with honor because God honors me. I no longer give away my time, my love, or my energy to places that haven’t been assigned by God. I am discerning, not dismissive—wise, not withholding. I am learning to love myself deeply because that is what positions me to love others well. God’s love fills every part of me, and I pour from a heart that is whole, healed, and held by Him.
manifestHERdaily Question of the Day:
In what areas of my life have I been giving away my time, energy, or love too freely—and how can I begin honoring my God-given worth by setting healthier boundaries that reflect how deeply God values me?
