Healing From GodSample

Hezekiah’s story shows us how powerful prayer can be when we truly trust God. The prophet Isaiah gave Hezekiah some terrible news: “Get ready because you’re going to die.” But Hezekiah didn’t give up. Instead, he turned to the wall, prayed, and cried out to God with all his heart.
This shows us that when we’re in trouble, we don’t have to accept things as they are. Hezekiah trusted God and believed in His goodness. He didn’t brag or try to earn healing by his good works. He simply reminded God of his faithful life and asked for help.
Before Isaiah even left the palace, God answered Hezekiah’s prayer! God promised to heal him and even gave a special sign—a miracle where the shadow on the sundial moved backward. This shows that God has power over everything—sickness, time, and even nature. It also reminds us that our prayers matter to God. He listens and responds when we talk to Him with faith.
God also told Isaiah to use a fig treatment to help Hezekiah’s illness. This is important, too—it teaches us that God can work through both miracles and medicine. Sometimes healing comes in amazing ways, and sometimes it comes through natural means like doctors and medicine. Both are from God.
Respond to God’s Word:
What do you do first when you hear bad news? Do you turn to God like Hezekiah did? Or do you turn to fear, people, or distractions?
Next Step:
Today, write your own prayer like Hezekiah’s. Be honest with God about what’s on your heart. Tell Him your fears, your pain, or your struggles. But also tell Him you trust His will.
If you’re asking God for healing—whether it’s for your body, your emotions, or your spirit—ask boldly and trust that He hears you. Be open to how He chooses to answer, even if it’s not the way you expected.
Write your prayer down and place it somewhere you’ll see it every day. Let it remind you that God still listens. And He still answers.
