Healing From GodSample

One day, Jesus went into the synagogue (a place of worship) and saw a man with a crippled hand. His hand didn’t work, and it may have caused him shame or embarrassment. The man didn’t ask Jesus for anything—but Jesus noticed him.
Jesus asked the man to stand in front of everyone. He knew some religious leaders were watching closely, hoping to catch Him doing something they thought was wrong. These leaders believed that healing was considered “work” and that it shouldn’t be done on the Sabbath, a day meant for rest.
But Jesus cared more about helping people than just following rules. He asked them a simple question: “Is it right to do good or evil on the Sabbath? To save life or to harm it?” They didn’t answer. Their hearts were hard, and Jesus was sad and upset by their lack of compassion.
Then Jesus told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” The man didn’t argue or make excuses. He simply obeyed—and when he stretched out his hand, it was healed completely.
This story shows that Jesus cares deeply for us, even when others don’t. He also calls us to take steps of faith, even when things seem impossible. The man couldn’t move his hand before, but he trusted Jesus—and healing came as he acted in faith.
Today, we may have areas in our lives that feel “withered”—maybe a broken relationship, a dream that feels dead, or a part of our heart that’s hurting. Jesus can bring healing and life to those places, too. He just asks us to trust Him and take that first step.
Respond to God’s Word:
Is there something in your life that feels broken, hopeless, or stuck? Is Jesus asking you to trust Him and try again?
Next Step:
Think about one area in your life that you’ve given up on—maybe something you think can’t change. Talk to Jesus about it in prayer, and ask Him to bring healing. Then, take one small step of faith this week—like reaching out to someone, serving again, or simply choosing to believe that God can restore what’s broken. As you stretch out in faith, Jesus will meet you there.
